Rudy writes : - "My name is Rudy and I am an American G.I. currently stationed in Okinawa, Japan.

I am in the Air Force and have been for almost 18 years. I was stationed at Royal Air Force Upper Hey ford between 1983 to 1987. I have nothing but fond memories of the British people I met during my stay there. I say British because they were not only English. I met Scottish, Irish, and Welsh also.

It is a 96 Vulcan Classic. Looks pretty much like the 800,. but of course
mine has a  400 cc engine as opposed to the 800.

This is my very first bike. I had never ridden before so the price 4000$, and 1000 kilometres on the odometer made it a very tempting set-up. You see, here in Japan, everything is so expensive. I believe I could have gotten the same bike back in the States for about a third less.

I am looking for parts at the moment, because I wrecked my bike on Christmas Eve '99, and have slowly been replacing things as I have been able to afford them.

I am now on my second to last piece. I need a fork and a front fender.

Luckily, I did not get hurt when I had my accident. So hopefully within a month I will be back on the road. Buying that bike has been the one of the best things I have ever done."

This soon to be restored machine is ridden by Rudy Japan
