Carlos
Diaz, and his VN800A.
Carlos writes : - "Hi Steve,
My name is Carlos, and I live in Spain, in a village near Madrid. My first bike was a 2nd hand EN500A, but cared for, (only 4000 miles in 4 years). I travelled around my country and Europe with this bike. Now I own a (also 2nd hand) '95 VN800A. I bought it almost from stock, only the windshield (no custom) and rear floorboards were put on before I owned her. Ah! it was black... a bike from a gravedigger (said my wife).
Almost all accessories have been modified or adapted by me: front floorboards are Highway Hawk modified on a drill and fixed by pieces made on my work bench.. I bought the windshield in a Moto Guzzi shop only for 2000 pts (10.2 $), cut it down, and polished the edges. I added an air horn from an old car, the backrest by Givi was modified after instruction from my wife (she orders and I do... like most of married couples). Grips, front spot lights and license holder by Highway Hawk, front axle caps from Kawasaki. The regulator plate and bag supports also are home made. The last accessory that you can't see is a driver backrest, also home made, very comfortable on longs trips.
I'm one of the founder members of the Vulcan Owners Club in Spain , and I am also the secretary. It gives me a big opportunity to meet people from many places and countries, such as Belgium, Netherlands, Austria, UK, USA, Argentina, etc. I think this is great: people from many countries joined by a common biker feeling.
Carlos."
