These 4 photos show why I had to buy a Cruiser, sadly as a result of this injury, the old right leg don't bend too well any more, less than 90°. These photos are a bit gruesome, so if you don't like blood, wounds, scars, or the thought of a broken leg, then click on the back button above. The cause of my injury was a fall from the back of a wagon onto tarmac, from a height just a shade over 5 feet. The actual injury consisted of a Scatzer Type 6 fracture to my upper tibia, (the scale goes up to 7), and fracture of the neck of my fibula. To effect the repair, my surgeon, a great bloke, (thanks Mr. Bell), took a bone graft from my hip, then applied this in conjuction with a buttress plate, and 13 titanium screws to my tibia. I spent nearly 12 months wearing a splint, (I was never in plaster), I was not allowed to weight bear at all for 5 months, and it was nearly 12 months before I was allowed to drive. Now 7 years on, although I still get quite a bit of pain, and normally walk with a stick, I get on with things, I can't drive a truck anymore, and now drive an automatic car, my Vulcan gives me my motoring pleasure. The Vulcan has now been sold, I now own a Suzuki GSX1400, click here to visit
